The Galápagos Short Eared Owl
Scientific name: Asio flammeus
The Galápagos owls prey on birds, rats and lizards. They are found on many of the Galápagos islands. They nest on low trees or rocky outcrops. Sometimes these owls fly between islands looking for food. There are usually small numbers of these owls on Daphne Major. Scientists have seen them prey on finches on this island.
